Measures of Academic Progress® Test

Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) are K – 12 interim assessments that measure growth and inform how educators differentiate instruction, evaluate programs, and structure curriculum.

The Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Tests are nationally normed, standardized achievement tests that assess student growth. Affordable Homeschool Testing Services LLC is offering MAP® tests in Reading, Math, and (optional) Language Usage. The untimed, web-based tests are taken on your laptop, iPad, or Chromebook and administered remotely by Affordable Homeschool Testing Services LLC. There is no degree requirement for parents.

Adaptive Assessments support growth

Computer adaptive MAP® assessments reveal precisely which academic skills and concepts the student has acquired and what they’re ready to learn. MAP® assessments are grade independent and adapt to each student’s instructional level. Every item on a MAP® assessment is anchored to a vertically aligned equal interval scale, called the RIT scale for Rasch UnIT—a stable measurement, like inches on a ruler, that covers all grades.

And because the measurement is reliable and accurate, RIT scores serve as an essential data point in a student’s learning plan; educators can see their precise learning level and respond accordingly.

Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level—precisely measuring student progress and growth for each individual. You’ll have essential information about what each student knows and is ready to learn within 48 hours.

Administration

Testing is by appointment. Multiple students may test at the same time, as long as each has their own computer or tablet. We offer MAP Reading tests on Monday, Math on Tuesday, and (optional) Language Arts on Wednesday. The tests are untimed, and many accommodations are available.
