Georgia Homeschool Testing

NWEA® MAP® Growth™ tests are the best solution for meeting Georgia homeschool testing requirements. MAP Growth tests are nationally normed, standardized tests that assess student growth. We use the 2020 norms and the same version of MAP Growth tests that are currently being utilized in public schools across the country. Homeschool Boss provides MAP Growth tests in reading, math, and language usage. These untimed, web-based tests are taken on your laptop, iPad, or Chromebook and administered remotely by Homeschool Boss. There is no degree requirement for parents.

It is most common for families to start with the reading test on Monday, followed by math on Tuesday, and finishing with language usage on Wednesday. Once every test has been completed, you will receive the score report within 1-2 days.

Computer-adaptive MAP Growth assessments reveal which academic skills and concepts the student has acquired and what they’re ready to learn next. MAP Growth assessments are grade independent and adapt to each student’s performance level. Every item on a MAP Growth assessment is anchored to a vertically aligned equal interval scale, called the RIT scale for Rasch UnIT — a stable measurement, like inches on a ruler, that covers all grades.

And because the measurement is reliable and accurate, RIT scores serve as an essential data point in a student’s learning plan; educators can see a student’s precise learning level and respond accordingly.

MAP Growth creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level — precisely measuring the performance and growth of each individual. You’ll have essential information about what each student knows and is ready to learn within the week.
