Hawaii Homeschool Testing

NWEA® MAP® Growth™ tests are a popular choice for meeting Hawaii homeschool testing requirements.

NWEA® MAP® Growth™ assessment tests are the best solution for meeting Hawaii homeschool testing requirements. The Hawaii MAP test is a nationally-normed test that assesses student growth. Homeschool Boss offers MAP Growth tests in reading, mathk language usage, and science. Language Usage and Science are always optional add-ons. We are currently using the 2020 norms and the MAP Growth tests we administer are the same ones in use in educational establishments all over the nation. These untimed, online tests can be completed on a PC, laptop, iPad, or Chromebook and are administered remotely by Homeschool Boss.

There is no degree requirement for parents.

The recommended scheduling for testing is one subject per day and all tests are typically completed within a week. Score reports are typically ready to view the next day after a test is completed.

Computer-adaptive MAP Growth assessments reveal which academic skills and concepts the student has acquired and what they’re ready to learn. MAP Growth assessments are grade independent and adapt to each student’s performance level. Every item on a MAP Growth assessment is anchored to a vertically aligned equal interval scale, called the RIT scale for Rasch UnIT—a stable measurement, like inches on a ruler, that covers all grades.

And because the measurement is reliable and accurate, RIT scores serve as an essential data point in a student’s learning plan; educators can see a student’s precise learning level and respond accordingly.

MAP Growth assessment creates a personalized experience by adjusting to each student’s learning level—accurately measuring the performance, skills, and growth of each individual. You’ll receive essential information about what each student knows and is ready to learn within the week.
