The Online NWEA Measures of Academic Progress Tests are a great way to fulfill the Pennsylvania (PA) homeschool testing requirements. The Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) Tests are nationally normed, standardized achievement tests that measure student growth. Homeschool Boss provides MAP® tests in reading, math, and language usage as an optional choice. We use the 2015 norms and the same version of the MAP tests currently in use in schools across the country. The untimed, web-based tests are taken on your personal computer, laptop, iPad, or Chromebook and administered remotely by Affordable Homeschool Testing Services LLC. There is no degree requirement for parents.
It is very common for families take the reading test on Monday, math on Tuesday, language usage on Wednesday. We offer quick turnaround times, making your score report available within 1-2 days after completion.
Computer adaptive MAP® assessments reveal precisely which academic skills and concepts each student has acquired, what they are progressing in, and what they’re ready for next. MAP® assessments are grade independent and adapt to each student’s instructional level. Every item on a MAP® assessment is anchored to a vertically aligned equal interval scale, called the RIT scale for Rasch UnIT—a stable measurement, like inches on a ruler, that encompasses all grade levels.
And because the measurement is reliable and accurate, RIT scores serve as an essential data point in a student’s learning plan; educators can see their precise learning level and respond accordingly.
Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level—precisely measuring student progress and growth for each individual. You’ll have essential information about what each student knows and is ready to learn within the week. With all these resources available, you’ll know exactly how to homeschool in PA (Pennsylvania).
